Kleptomania was the disease that always provoked negative attitude to people sick with it because ordinary and healthy people couldn’t understand how the person can’t stop from taking something from supermarket referring such behaviour to bad education.
Kleptomania doesn’t suppose that kleptomaniac has no conscience. He/she really has it, simply he/she can’t fight his/her disease and such people must be medically treated. Kleptomania can be treated with the help of hypnosis. Unfortunately, only 15% of people ill with kleptomania turn to doctors for help.
Scientists have tried to solve the mystery of kleptomania for a long time already. This disease is unique that is why there are no theories how to fight it.

Pen stealing
Recently the new investigations have been held in which more than 2200 company workers took part. Every 10 worker confessed that he/she was stealing things from his/her working place. And 38% of asked managers from the staff said that they had to fire workers because they were stealing.
As to the objects of stealing, usually they are writing materials, office equipment, office pictures and flowers as well as toilet paper, tea and coffee not considering things and money of colleagues. And of course 58% of workers of different companies confessed that use the office materials with their personal aims.
Usually people steal pens from their work places. About 77% of workers at least borrowed a pen at once. Stickers take the second place that make 44%. Clips are not less popular and make 40%. Envelopes and notebooks as well as paper make 32%, 28% and 27%. Stapler is the less popular object of stealing and makes 7% and the paper towels are not famous at all and make only 6%. About 70% of people confessed that they regularly take home the office equipment. They also like to steal CD and DVD. If there is the access to the group of household goods then even the dusters and floor cloth are stolen. When people quit they also try to take something with them usually stealing paper for fax, files and calculators.
The most interesting is that 3% of workers were caught stealing and not because they masked badly but because in other 97% of cases company didn't consider the stealing to be real stealing. Every fourth person recognised that he/she took the office material when the boss was seeing it and only 1% of people confessed how they were punished for being caught in the act.
